  • Active Duty Service Members
    • Must have completed at least 180 continuous days on active duty
    • Must have expected discharge date or release from active duty date within 180 days of start of training program
    • Must receive authorization from the first field grade commander with UCMJ authority in the service member's chain of command 


  • Veterans and Military Dependents
    • Are eligible for participation at the Alcatraz Island location only (the Pearl Harbor location can only accept active duty service members)
    • Veterans must have been Honorably Discharged and able to provide DD-214 for verification of military service 
    • Military dependents must be 18 years of age or older and must be a dependent of a military service member currently serving on active duty


  • Alcatraz lsland Program - Specific information this location only
    • ​Alcatraz lsland Field Training Program participants are housed at no charge in dorms operated by the National Park Service located on Fort Cronkhite in the Marin Headlands (just north of the Golden Gate Bridge)
    • Active duty participants may secure space available travel through Air Mobility Command, U.S. Air Force, and fly to Travis Air Force Base, California (approx. 45 miles from housing location). All enrolled participants must secure their own modes of transportation to arrive to the program housing location prior to identified start date. All daily and routine transportation requirements throughout the program are provided by the CPI Foundation.

Alcatraz lsland Field Training Program - Rolling Enrollment 2020-2021


Career training sessions for the remainder of 2020 and 2021 will be held on a rolling basis. Active duty applicants who are accepted into the program can start their training on the 1st or 3rd Monday of every month; individual training sessions should be planned for 12-weeks in duration. Participants wishing to enroll in shorter or longer training periods based off their personal availability or preference will be considered on a case by case basis (dependent on housing availability and military command approval). The CPI Foundation reserves the right to suspend or shorten training sessions with or without prior notice to enrolled participants. 


The Alcatraz Island Field Training Program will be running continuously through 2020/2021, with the following exceptions:


  • ​​Thanksgiving Holiday (23-27 Nov 2020) - housing remains open, training continues on 30 Nov 2020.
  • Winter/New Year Holiday (21 Dec 2020 - 08 Jan 2021) - housing unavailable, all participants must depart NLT 20 Dec 2020.
  • Thanksgiving Holiday (22-26 Nov 2021) - housing remains open, training continues on 29 Nov 2021.
  • Winter/New Year Holiday (20 Dec 2021 - 07 Jan 2022) - housing unavailable, all participants must depart by 19 Dec 2021.
